UPDATE: DA seeks higher or revoked bond for woman accused in fatal DWI on Causeway
quote:
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - St. Tammany District Attorney Warren Montgomery has filed a motion to increase or revoke bond for a woman accused of killing a man on the Causeway in her third DWI offense. Olivia Matte got out of jail March 24 on a $126,000 bond. Matte, 26, was booked with vehicular homicide, third-offense DWI, driving on a suspended license, failure to maintain control of a vehicle and vehicular negligent injuring. The crash, which happened March 23, killed James Blackmon of Mississippi. Matte’s blood-alcohol was almost three times the legal limit at the time of the crash, according to police.

Her bond should have been much higher

How was she let out of jail period? Why TF was there a bond set at all?
She's been arrested 3 F'n times since June with DWI charges. Now she's killed someone else.
This chick needs to sit in the pen for a good long time if not the rest of her life. This is obscene and she isn't fit for society right now.

Their names should go into a database and never be allowed to own a vehicle or motorcycle again. That would include not being able to drive again.

Why do you keep randomly posting pictures of her without saying anything?

Real cocktail bartenders hate that mixologist shite. I hate even saying I cocktail bartend, but whatever.
I bartend my way through university and I went to high school with Olivia at Fontainebleau High, started my first serving job at Chili's with Olivia when I was 19, friends/worked with her fiance, friends with her older sister. This is just sad because she is a nice person and it sucks that she killed someone on the causeway. But knowing of many people who got their third dwi and knowing that this is JP, she will get off. She will probably do probation, a drug court program (where you attend outpatient rehab attending 5 days a week and attend at least 3 AA meetings a week, while drug testing, while wearing an alcohol ankle monitor), MADD meetings and she will be fine afterwards. That is how the Louisiana system is, especially when you are connected. I did not even know that this happen until someone that knows me and her fiance called me and told me. At least the rant is more calm than reading this WWL facebook comments.

People are hot about it in the community. I have a feeling she isn't going to get off easy, regardless of her connections. Too many eyes on it.

Yeah, I moved to Austin in August to go to UT and I do not really know what is going on there. Her fiance deleted his FB and deleted hers. I never bothered to text him understandably.

Yea I don't have an ounce of sympathy for her. She is a truly messed up POS and is obviously a major alcoholic. 3 DWIS in less than a year and on your third one you kill someone while you're three times the legal limit. There is absolutely no excuse for that. She obviously doesn't have a good support system with family/friends considering she is still getting hammered and driving around. It looks like the legal system is the only hope at helping her. I hope she rots in prison for a long time.
Seriously, three DWIs in less than a year, that is amazing.

She'll get time. Maybe not a lot but she will do at least two years.

whats tough on that front is that short of putting someone in a cage, theres only so much you can do to keep an alcoholic from drinking and once drinking from driving.
if getting popped for a 3rd inside a year she obviously has a serious alcohol problem and even with a well intentioned support system you can get yourself pretty drunk and hop in a car fairly easily if you end up running off the rails.
no idea what if anything she/they were doing to prevent this though. i knew someone with 2 in a year and they were still rolling along like it wasnt a thing.
