Thursday's arrest was Matte's third on DWI charges in less than a year. On June 12, Causeway police arrested her after she drove erratically and hit the curb on the bridge, General Manager Carlton Dufrechou said. Matte's blood alcohol level that day registered 0.186, he said. She successfully completed the diversion program of the Jefferson district attorney's office on Nov. 23 in connection with that charge, an office spokesman said. Prosecutors then refused the DWI charge pending against her, he said. On Dec. 7, however, Matte was arrested by Louisiana State Police on the North Shore on charges of DWI and improper lane use, according to court records. She is scheduled to go to trial in that case on May 9 in 22 nd Judicial District Court in Covington.

She cut her hair (I guess in a drunken rampage). If she has a good lawyer, he'll tell her to grow it out again. It is a fact that good looking girls get lesser punishments. I mean, she's not a 10, but IWHI if she wasn't a raging alcoholic.

Somebody knew she was fricked-up and going to drive home.
They should feel pretty bad about not intervening.

I respect that. And, as the other poster said, there are some who believe that taking money from an offender's family can at least improve the quality of life for the victims's family (being generous and assuming best intentions).
After reading this I had a flashback to Teddy Kennedy at Chapiquidick !

If she was drinking at a bar there should be penalties for over-serving her. There are obvious indicators for drunkenness: Glassy eyes, slurred speech, imbalance while attempting to walk just to name a few...

Some alcoholics show no signs of impairment. Hell, she could've been a quiet person and nobody would've noticed. Keep the blame on her instead of her family, bartenders, the judge, etc. It was her who did it

If you're not supposed to drink and drive, then why do bars have parking lots?

Wasn't she the bartender?

That Gosserand chick from New Roads had money....I think she basically did nothing but work at the WBR parish office for a few months.

She is a bartender but it was my understanding that she lives and works in the New Orleans area. Somewhere it was stated she works at Fulton Alley and at Chili's.
She had to have been drinking on the northshore and crossing the bridge to get back home. She has family in St. Tammany Parish.

Is it difficult being that sheltered? Anyone with three DUI's clearly has an issue with alcohol. You know you don't have to get drunk at bars right?

Have you ever tried reasoning with a drunk?
I'm guessing you haven't.

Drunk female at that....with what appears to be a routine of driving on that particular stretch of road under the influence.

I am going to guess based on people in here that say she is a druggie and her friend defending her that there is a guy or new girl friends in Olivia's life that have pulled her into a level of partying that is out of control. There is an escalation of her behavior from June to now that has caused a fatality. If they did a tox screen on her while she was being processed and it comes back for narcotics on top of her BAC it will be very interesting to see this playout
