I'd plead not guilt also and try everything under sun to not go to jail. Nowadays it's not if you did it or not, its about the technicalities and what you can get a jury to believe happened

get a better plea deal offer.
Her 3rd DUI.. and she was twice the legal limit? Shouldn't be any sort of plea deal. Life in prison without even the remotest possibility of parole. That or just put her to death.

Just because she pleads not guilty at the arraignment doesn't mean that it's going to trial. This just opens negotiations for a plea deal. This happens more often than not in criminal cases.
Agreed. If she plead guilty, then the judge would move to sentencing . With not guilty plea, the prosecution will approach for a plea deal as they don't want to waste resources on a trial they will clearly win. At least the defense can negotiate a lesser sentence for the client during the negotiation instead of a crap shoot with the judge.

Plea deals are a major contributing factor to our fricked up judicial system
Kind of makes me feel like I can rob someone at gunpoint and only pay the same consequences as someone who ran a stop sign
The cost of every case going to trial would be astronomical

I know of a couple of local SJWs that would too.

Think about that innocent little child for a moment and rethink your statement.

Ok, then what's the point of having laws and consequences if you can commit Crime A but only pay the consequences of Crime B
It's just stupid, that's all

This is criminal defense 101. Hell, you don't even have to have gone to Law school to know this.
However, she is guilty as frick.

This happens in virtually all criminal cases. Maybe one in a thousand will plead to an information prior to indictment so they can get out of jail if the offer is no jail time.
In this case, it's just a formality. She'll end up pleading in return for a sentence recommendation.
