I’m going to speculate a scenario:
1. Brandon and Ally had an on/off relationship
2. She was more into the relationship than he was, he was rich and enjoyed the ‘player’ lifestyle.
3. She told him she was pregnant
4. He did not want to commit and pressure her to get an abortion, maybe even gave her money for the procedure
5. She may initially agreed, but was hesitant and kept delaying the procedure
6. Her pregnancy had advanced to a point passed the first trimester where getting the procedure will be extremely difficult.
7. He felt that she was using her pregnancy to trap him (or maybe lied to him telling him that she had the procedure, but then dropped the bombshell that night that she had not and was too advance to get one).
8. He got super pissed, sensing he was trapped and shot her 8 times.

Ah my bad.
Yeah, my roommate and a few of my best buddies were from Holly Springs and grew up with Steve's daughter (Kelsey I believe?).
I though their office was in Memphis?

Yep.
He's never handled anything of this magnitude before I don't think, but there is literally not a more connected lawyer in Oxford.
I'm wondering what value that adds to this, I'm sure there is some.

I could see most of this, but #7. We have texts from her to him from a week prior complaining about all of her pregnancy symptoms.

However, if she was bluffing then she wouldnt be the first to say these types of things to sell a fake pregnancy.

In hopes to get the charges reduced, I think they'll certainly argue the point that he had no intentions of committing this crime. It would be absurd for them not to.
For example, he had picked her up, they were driving around aimlessly to "talk" or discuss their options regarding the baby, the relationship, their future, whatever. The situation suddenly got very heated and volatile, and he had snapped.

If a woman shoots a man 8 times in the abdomen it doesn’t hold nearly the same weight as reversing the roles... she’s basically confirming she’s pregnant with her response to that tweet

I think it’s likely the guy always carried the gun in his truck from what we’ve heard so far, so that will help their not premeditated argument a bit
Wonder if they will try and push a self defense narrative? Seems like a fine line to walk, blaming a tiny little girl who you ultimately shot 8! times may not play well with a jury
