I probably missed about 6-8 pages of theories but isn’t one of them that this was his side chick and that he was dating a brunette?
Having your side chick come up pregnant and wanting to keep it isn’t something that stays quiet, especially since she was going to claim child support at some point.
He may have thought he would lose side chick, lose main chick, and be on the hook for child support, so he stupidly thought taking out side chick could be a solution.

Yeah it's hard to fathom, but likely the "world revolves around me" / "I am the protagonist of my own story" fallacy people have. Combine that with potential anger issues and emotional hijacking, shite can happen.

It's still absolutely insane that he thought he had any chance of getting away with this with all of the text records etc.
