My daily driver is 26 years old, so I should be safe from hackers. But I also recognize the safety concerns of driving such an older vehicle so I don't drive my daughter around in it very often.
It's a give and take but I wouldn't get rid of that vehicle for anything.

My 83 CJ-7 has a Chevy 350 in it... there are maybe 4 wires running through the firewall.

Oddly enough my first car was a 1967 Pontiac Lemans just like the one in VetteGuy's post but maroon. Later on I got an 87 300D. Was a tank.

Now that I look at pictures. It had to have been newer than '83. It had bigger, square headlights but they headlights weren't full or smooth. You could still stick your hand in it. I hope that makes sense. 
I'm not a car guru. :/

Yeah, unfortunately for the owner of the Pontiac, it was just about as stereotypical as you can get.
Older Asian lady, got panicked and hit the gas instead of the brake. She was upset, but unhurt.
Kinda scary how that Pontiac folded up, even into the roof.

The doors didn't even have rails in them, like all doors do now.

IIRC, the Pontiac was a decent3-4 car, but not a pristine example. Still, it was his baby.

Somehow the kids of my generation made it through these death traps okay. Joking aside, I just don't feel comfortable having her in it on the interstate (she's a baby and there are no child seat hooks or other safety features).
It'll be her car one day though.

You see, safety doesn't mean that much to me if we're talking about using a vehicle primarily for use after an EMF attack or government tracking and apprehending citizens.
I want a practical vehicle.
Think about an old IH Scout or Ford Bronco I. You have some carrying/towing abilities as well as off road. And if you keep it in decent shape, it won't lose any value.

I converted my 69 VW from points to electronic ignition a few weeks ago. Can a EMP shut me down
