Your friend's grandfather was a spy. While the family was sitting around the radio listening to Lawrence Well, he was communicating with Spain. It's the only possibility.

That’s a “practice key” for learning/practicing Morse code.

That's cool as shite. I'd clean it up and find a way to use it.

Too bad you didn't find a second one. You could run the wire to your kid's room and send them messages that they would have to decode.

That's a total dad/son memory in the making.

It could be a nice addition to your sex dungeon, if you have one. Electricity just adds another level to all that crazy shite people like you are into.

No, the 'handle' is a place to slide in two battery cells.

That was China’s version of tick tock back in the gap. The whole world was using them sending valuable information all directly to China.

That looks almost exactly like what I have, only mine is metal... but that kinda confirms it’s “WWII - Australian”

Any counter-claims?

I'm going to go with - The ole gramps was stationed in England during WWII and hooked up with a limey chick. She sent this back with him and kept another just like it. He would go up into the attic and sex-code with her when his wife was asleep.

That's the most logical scenario, right?
