That area is (for Mandeville) a little bit trashy. Drugs maybe?

Depre St by the lakefront is trashy? I was just in that are yesterday and it seemed very nice. It’s close to OLOL church

Checked with my parents who live in OM and they said Police are everywhere. Several SWAT type vehicles came flying down the road out of nowhere. This has the makings of a possible hostage situation or some sort of standoff inside a house.

ETA: my mom confirmed that a suspect is barricaded inside a house.

Dude probably lives in a new-build subdivision off 1088. It's "safe" except for the tons of bullets we pumped into the ground out there pre-Katrina.

Like I said, it's trashier than the usual for Mandeville. There are some really nice houses but there are some shitboxes over there too. There are some places off of Monroe St. I wouldn't be scared to go, they just would be the places I'd imagine would have some seediness.

A suspect who is armed is barricaded inside a home near Depre Street. The incident started around 10 a.m.

The scene is just one block away from Our Lady of the Lake Church and School.

One block from OLOL during Ash Wednesday services will keep a calm community, I'm sure

If you're looking at the street this happened on from Monroe, you're right. Ida turned all the houses in the front eastern side into abandoned houses. But, in the midst of that there's a 800k+ house being built.

It won't be trashy for long.

That aside, any update on this? Who was apprehended? Was it someone living on that street?

Not sure about the specific area here, but this is absolutely true for the OM off-lakefront area overall.
