This shite had nothing to do with Waco. McVay was going to kill people no matter what. He had an agenda, and anything could have put him over the edge. It just happened to be Waco, but could have been anything or nothing at all. The dude is a sick frick.

I think it's easy to look at these issues with today's perspective. But importantly, you have to understand the culture at the time of these events. There are many great books on all of these matters, but perhaps one that I would suggest is:
No Heroes: Inside the FBI's Secret Counter-Terror Force by Danny Coulson. A really informative read to bring you back to the challenges at the time of these terrible events.
