I've worn glasses for a few years now. First pair was back when the interwebs was a non factor. Others I have just taken the arse raping at the shop attached to the Optho's office.

What are the best sites/online stores?

I prefer Warby Parker to Zenni. Better quality and frame styles.

I would shop local and support small business but that's just me. Luxotica doesn't have cute children in our elementaries.

Used to be good but were bought out by Essilor, with the final nail being Essilor merging with Luxottica. I still recommend Zenni wholeheartedly.

I have had a few eye exams and my vision hasn't changed and I haven't noticed it changed at all, but you have to get a check up every year to buy online. It is bullshite but you can buy from overseas without a prescription and it still cost less to have it shipped here than what I could find in the USA. The shipping took only a week and if your vision hasn't changed then you can save on not having to take the eye exam all the time.

I recently bought my first pair through Zenni and couldn’t be happier.

Just over $50 with shipping and I got a bunch of special lens coatings.

Fit much better than a pair of Ray Bans I used to have.

Zenni does not require an actual prescription. You just enter in your specs.

But wouldn't having your exact number help? I'm tired of the scam too. I'm interested in this thread.
