I applied for an open position within my company today that is based in Dubai. It's time for me to move to a more stable market.

Good to know. Don't have a ton of knowledge of that area, I know they had a GTL facility they were building, but current margins are going to kill any profits of that venture.

No doubt Shell saw this coming when they pulled out of their GTL last year.

More stable than SELA, but no doubt they are hurting. Did you see the record deficits they are reporting over there...wow.

Oil price is currently sitting at $30.93. We should definitely see the 20's this week.

Have been told by supervisors that it wouldn't hurt to look for other jobs. Not looking good.

It sucks for the people who are negatively impacted by this, but for the average consumer, and most other industries that use gasoline, lower oil prices is a net positive.

Countries like China buy American bonds and float our economy. If they tank, we tank.

Congrats on your success in RE and infinite wisdom in the field.

Good thing is we decided to sell our domestic oil to them so they can refine it for pennies on the dollar and send it back even cheaper.

I would only be based in Dubai. The job would have me traveling around the ME region. Activity is very high in the region.

Well Japan owns more bonds than China and they've been in a decades long recession.

Regardless, I'm not sure why low oil prices are going to sink the world economy. Most of the world benefits from lower oil prices.

Back when Obama and Ryan were hiding all that trade legislation from the public, didn't they tell us all that it would make the US stronger with regard to trade and dealing with outside market influences and such?

So when will all the high prices due to oil finally come down? Like groceries, services that rely on fuel, etc.

He's in Ohio which is a large steel area. What happens with China is probably a larger concern for him than oil prices.

Our economy runs on the backs of 18 wheelers and planes.

This could not be anymore incorrect. For the 18 wheelers to utilize cheap gas the other companies have to have money to pay them to ship whatever commodity it is. Right now you have a stalemate that the normal new truck purchasers can't afford new trucks and used truck purchasers can't afford used. None of them can afford to maintain upkeep on outdated equipment. You can figure out what that means.

Lucky for you, your idol Obama is going to make your credit report and job history part of the background check to get a firearm.

Getting fired and not paying your bills due to no paycheck is not going to look good for you.

But, it's just an extra depth to the background check and all that, so no big deal, right?
