It is pretty common industry knowledge. Hence the layoffs and downsizing. I don't really read upstream trade info since it doesn't really concern me. Just know many people that have very in depth knowledge.

Because me finding something hard to believe is justifying something or calling it to be free.

If you can't provide a source I'll chalk it up to word of mouth common industry knowledge, which still doesn't make it common knowledge to folks like me who aren't in the industry. I'm suppose to take your word because you get your income via O&G? Just because you are operating at a certain level and everything in your bubble is all fine and dandy does not mean things outside of the bubble are great.

I was reflecting that making assumptions off a belief can make you look like an assclown.

It is about to get exhausting when he finds all this information in the Forbes article, he is wetting himself with what he thinks he is learning.

That is not their forecast though. I just read their report, and they said there are scenarios where that could happen, which is obviously possible, but they forecast it to be much higher than that even in 2016.

You didn't, it is just odd that you are so adverse to being educated on the subject.

I think you're being presumptuous in respect of your educating comments.

The original statement was declarative and said that there is an "optimal" price for oil and natural gas. Then, you post items talking about break-even points for various investments.

Of course, that just justifies an optimal price from the point of view of producers. The point being that "optimal" is a relative term.

No doubt, optimal price is as high as possible.

The break even or profitable price is really all we are worried about. That statement is what brought my reply.

Why? Perhaps the optimal price is the price at any point you're trying to determine the optimal price.

Woah, you lost me in there. Inception-price

Supply and demand obviously would play a part. But if you are selling all you can produce top dollar is optimal.
