If you make your schedule Tuesday and Thursday it wouldn’t be that bad of a drive. I also wouldn’t want to be 18-21 living in that side of town either.

I remember driving in the cottages on Friday nights in the spring and seeing those. That always used to make me laugh.

I came home after work one night when one of those big parties went down and I pulled up and had to take like 10 minutes to convince 4 drunk black girls that I wasn't their uber driver and to stop trying to get into my car

Those units had a number of issues back in 2014. I can only imagine how rundown they are now.

It would piss me off when the cops would set up a DUI checkpoint outside of the cottages the night of a big black party, because it would make it so where they wouldn't leave.

I still think that's true.

I lived there in 2012-2013, and then spent a lot of time there in 2013-2014.
And I agree, by spring of 2014 you could sort of tell it was going downhill fast. It was great that first year I lived there, though, for the most part.

I can believe it. I just remember seeing people running around everywhere. It looked like a good time. But like Bengal said, this was before the light on Burbank. So cops would just chill in the bushes on both ends of Ben Hur until about 3am.

The 2-3 room stand alones weren't bad the first year or two. But damn they went to shite quick. That whole area is so oversaturated, if it isn't torn down in 10 years, it'll be section 8.

I was the first resident in phase 2 of the cottages and they let me move in 2 months before everyone else because my parents moved out of state and my apartment was ready and i needed a place pronto and within a month my vehicle was stolen out of the parking lot. Sheriffs office found it in gardere. Next year i lived in the woodlands and my Xbox and tv were, never caught that guy. Thugs know to target that area and have been doing so for awhile

I went working out one time and straight up an entire family walked in and just started watching TV and fricking around with the equipment and letting their kids run around. It was clear they didn't live there they just came to find a place to bum for the day I guess. I was like I gotta get the frick outta here.

My random black roommate would always have 2-4 people over spending the night. They'd sleep on the couches in the main room or on the floor of the hallway upstairs (5 bedroom apt).
The last week before our lease was up, our big TV and PS3 in the main room were stolen.

All of them are. But they just keep building new ones every year and the rich greek kids will always just move to the newest one.
I lived in the UClub Cottages on River Road one year. I can't describe how much nicer it was to live in a rent house the next year.
