If a plane breaks apart at 35,000 feet, experts can use mathematics based on atmospheric variables to narrow down a probable debris field location based on the aircraft's last known location.
They aren't scouring the entire Gulf of Thailand for this thing. The fact that they haven't found anything yet tells me the plane either a) went down over land or b) was abducted by aliens.
There's a reason why people who know their shite are calling this the most baffling case of a missing airline they have ever seen.

Except they are not sure if the plane broke apart at the last known location. I'm fairly certain someone involved with the search has thought that through already.

Or the plane continued to move after it's last known location. Crazy thought, I know.

It's not a mathematician needed to find this plane, it's an act of god.

And why those of us who have no idea what we are talking about are either claiming aliens, "they landed the plane and will use it later for terrorism" or "why can't they find it. It's a big arse airplane, for goodness sakes".

pretty certain that all possible variables have been taken into account before sending out search and rescue... i bet the "search area" is still massive. Then if they were off any they could be looking 50 miles away from the crash. Its been 4 days so ocean currents begin playing a factor.
I personally don't think there is much left to find.

There is a fair chance nothing will ever be found and nothing ever known. Flew through a time or energy portal just like hundreds of planes and boats and missing crew have done in the Bermuda Triangle over the last couple of centuries. And these are documented, verified cases of craft and/or crew simply disappearing into thin air. Quantum physics says this is possible.

I read there were 7.5 hours of fuel left. Is there a map somewhere that shows a diameter of how far that reaches from the last known position? Just wondering how far they could have possibly flown under the radar, if terrorism is the cause.

Taking tinfoil off now and I won't say another word.

And if this thing crashed in the Cambodian jungle, they may never find it...

How does a crash like that not get noticed by someone. Technology has penetrated deeply into even remote areas now days.

Thank you.
I haven't studied much quantum physics, if any, but can hold my fair share in the classical mechanics and physics department. That, sir, is highly, highly unlikely.

7.5 hours at 5-600 knots....a long ways

Of course it is. But there are things that have happened with missing craft in other areas of the world that to this day simply cannot be explained. I feel like there is a rational explanation for the whole thing but we may never know. Very bizarre.

Maybe it flew off the planet and into space???

Here's a good video explaining the difference between Air France and this Malaysia airliner and why everyone is so baffled by it.

You seem to be straddling the fence on this one.
Do you, or do you not think the "time/energy portal" is a possibility here?

Ricard Quest reminds me of they guy that lived next door to the Jeffersons... Bently, I think his name was.

hmm now terrorism makes the most sense as there was no mayday... and no computer contact.
Plus the radar coverage of the area it was in.
