Probably, I looked at the original location from that guy's twitter feed of the Boat he referred to.

After a while, it had moved from the location. I figured it wouldn't be moving if they had found something.

Like I originally said, that straight it too small and prob too heavily travelled for it not to be found by now if that's where it did go in.

dude, you better believe it would have moved. Time is money in shipping. Schedules must be kept.

The Straits are not that wide and arguably the busiest shipping channel in the world. I just don't see how a huge plane takes a dive there and no one sees it.

There's way too much boat traffic in the Malacca Straits for someone to not have seen either the crash itself or some debris of some type like suitcases, seat cushions, loose sheet metal, or bodies.

It's been my thought all along this was a hijacking gone badly. It may turn out to be a murder/suicide. I've never really felt they would find the plane intact.

I was leaning toward suicide and crash, but the lack of emergency locator transmitter beacons is puzzling. There were two on the plane, one in the front, one in the back. Hit the ground they go off, hit the water they go off, plane breaks up in the water, they can float to the surface. They are highly reliable, odds of two failing not likely. Pilot can't turn them off, they can not be physically accessed once in the air, and have their own battery power. The is an array of 16 orbiting satellites constantly monitoring for signals from them.

I have never heard anything about beacons floating to the surface when planes crash in the ocean. Better alert the us navy that is searching with sonar for sounds underwater

It was stated that life rafts set off beacons but the plane may not have broken up and had any float to the surface .

I definitely think one or more of the crew was involved. Not sure how they got around all methods of detection.

Probably unrelated and thought twice about posting it but with all the strangeness surrounding this whole thing.... Why not?

Unidentified corpses in Meghna

Again I seriously doubt this is related but who knows at this point.

Love that show. Shows you though that the overwhelming majority of air disasters are preventable.

It's insane because you're absolutely right. It's like 1/4 or 1/5 shows where the plane actually malfunctioned. shite, may be even less than that. What's scary is how many of them are maintenance or sheer incompetence of ATC or the pilots

Didn't it take 2 years to recover the black boxes from the Air France crash a few years ago?

Right. A few are maintenance issues which scare the hell out of me, but most are poor choices by the cockpit crew or ATC. Even some of the maintenance problems could have been overcome in the air with proper pilot actions.

Still nothing anywhere but twitter talking about bag/wreckage seen in the straight... Another false lead?
Yep. If any part of the plane/wreckage were actually in the Strait of Malacca, it would've been found long ago.

Yes, but only 5 days (if memory serves) to find pieces of wreckage.

Yea, I looked at the location on the map and that is probably the only link between the stories at this point. Not knowing the goings on in that area of the world and all. It could be anything honestly.
