First I've heard this... Final communication was "good night" when Malaysia was handing over to china. Immediately after, transponder was turned off.

Unnamed Malaysian government official claimed investigators had concluded that one of the pilots or someone else with flying experience hijacked the plane

The head of the investigation into the missing Malaysia Airlines plane has denied any conclusive evidence of hijacking and said it was just one of a number of lines they're looking at.

His comments came after a Malaysian government official said investigators had concluded that one of the pilots or someone else with flying experience hijacked the missing Malaysia Airlines plane.

The official, who was not named but is involved in the investigation, told AP no motive has been established, and it is not yet clear where the plane was taken.

The official said that hijacking was no longer a theory. "It is conclusive."

He said evidence that led to the conclusion were signs that the plane's communications were switched off deliberately, data about the flight path and indications the plane was steered in a way to avoid detection by radar.

However, Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, who is leadingthe investigation denied it.

"It is not conclusive. I'm heading the investigation and nobody is saying that. It's not true. We are looking at the possibility, we're looking at all possibilities. We're doing every profile of the passengers and crew but there is no firm evidence or leads so far," he told the Telegraph.

Get the Malaysians out the frickING press someone!

On an uninhibited island? Can't they clear a level strip long and wide enough over months or years without notice? If it has to be concrete, I would say no, they couldn't do that undetected. Does it have to be concrete though? I don't know. Seems like a level strip of hard packed earth would suffice for a one time landing and subsequent takeoff at some later point.

I would be willing to bet you could man that operation with a dozen men and a grading machine or two and get a lot done from sundown to sun up every night for a few months. Clear a portion every night and have it camouflaged with lightweight fake bushes, rocks, logs, etc before sun up. Keep moving down the line and continue to mask the operation.

That plane took off at night and could have been landed before sunrise. The people on the island could have easily cleared all the diversions from the strip and ready for the plane and had everything back in place before 7am. Now how you hide the plane after that is what baffles me.

I wonder if all the people on reddit who viciously attacked and downvoted anyone who said this could be terrorism or a hijacking feel right now.

So both pilots in on it possibly? One in the background telling the other to drop the contact? Would certainly sound like mumbling...

Whole thing starting to sound like Con Air without the cons in the plane.

I'm not a pilot. How hard is it to land a 777 on a runway at night in the middle of nowhere with no lights? I'm sure there are a lot deserted airfields in the area, but wouldn't it take some heavy equipment to get them in condition for a commercial jet to land?

Nothing is off the table. There was a purpose for hijacking the plane.

What was the motive? No groups have claimed responsibility to OUR knowledge. This is a very well planed and executed plot even if it's a psychotic pilot.

In the days after a pilot from a military flight, or a military vessel had reported hearing mumbling on a SOS channel or something along those lines.

Supposedly another pilot had contacted the plane and heard nothing he could understand.

An anonymous official told the Bloomberg news service that MH370's final communication with satellites placed it in parts of the Indian Ocean near Australia, completely away from where rescuers are now searching.

Flight 370 may have flown beyond its last known position about 1,000 miles west of Perth,” Bloomberg reported

Yep, most of the Reddit community goes out of their way to make sure anyone that dares bring up the word terrorism in major incidents are ridiculed. Same way with the Boston bombing. Let's not forget they made some dude's life a living hell by incorrectly Identifying him as the bomber.

I would not call 1000miles all that "close" to Australia.
