It's really pathetic that you guys are latching onto the fact that Obama had more people at his inauguration. Seriously no one cares. But I guess moral victories have to suffice when you pin all your hopes and dreams on Hillary fricking Clinton

What right gives you the ability to have violent protests and destroy other people's property?

I wasn't a Hillary supporter. I voted 3rd party. Bernie bro, here.

Regardless of whether or not you care about it, Trump's inauguration was very lightly attended. I believe that is an indication the attitude of the population towards Trump. You're right though, it's not an indictment of Trump nor does it mean very much in the end.

How does the crowd compare to the Bush or Clinton inaugurations?

Not really a fair comparison because a vastly different angle, but here's all I could find on a quick Google image search..

However, here are numbers from Wikipedia..
For G-dub's inauguration..
quote:

An estimated 300,000 people attended the swearing-in ceremony

Obama's first inauguration attendance number wasn't officially documented, but an ASU professor said..
quote:

Stephen Doig, a professor at Arizona State University, estimated that 1.1 million people attended the inauguration ceremony using the same satellite image. Although the image was taken a little less than 45 minutes before Obama's swearing-in ceremony, Doig adjusted his estimate to include people who were still arriving in the area before the event.[189] In spite of his crowd estimate, Doig stated that "if I had to bet, I would say the [Barack] Obama crowd is in fact bigger than those that showed up for [Johnson] or any of the other things ... I'm wholly prepared to think it was the largest crowd."[187] Approximately 1.2 million people had attended the second inauguration of Lyndon B. Johnson in 1965.[190]

Obama's inauguration being a piece of history (first black president) surely lured many, many more people than would normally attend.

The population which he won the vote of? Its not like he won the presidency with 25%.

And maybe a lot didnt go because they knew there would be dumbasses rioting.

He won the vote of the electoral college, not the popular vote.

Nah that only goes for Republicans. Republicans have to respect the outcome of the election. Democrats are allowed to chimp out in the streets whenever they don't like the outcome of an election or other civic event.

Well.. I am registered Republican, but I consider myself Independent... I guess it still works the same when it comes to the protesting thing..

And per Wikipedia 1 million attended Bill Clinton's inauguration. Don't you think it makes sense that in an area that is vastly liberal and Democrat that more people would show up for a Democratic president?

If the inaugurations had been held in LA I'm sure the numbers would be reversed. The whole crowd thing is pretty dumb.

I don't disagree with that.

I really didn't mean much when I posted that picture other than literally wondering if the number of protesters will come close to the number of attendees.

Here we have something actually worth protesting over.

I guess it's possible nationwide. Another indicator of political leanings. Democrat gets elected and people accept it. Republican gets elected and Democrats want to burn things. Just like the Democratic members of Congress who said they wouldn't attend the inauguration... bunch of fricking crybabies.

You're rght.. state sanctioned executions with no trial are a great thing to support. All protesters should be assumed to be violent criminals and shot on sight.

I was at the 2009 Inauguration. This is absolutely correct.

But, people are allowed to be petty and bitch. 306-232 is the only number that matters.
