My parents also live in a rockport. They stubbornly evacuated before the storm hit but took them convincing.
Still no word on the condition of the house but they live on the water so are hopes aren't high.

At least they are safe and that's the important thing. God speed.

We all better get ready to start lending a helping hand. Prepare the Cajun Navy

This is the 5-day graphics from this storm are about as rare as you'll find:

Damn. Pretty crazy since the immediate Victoria area doesn't seem to have received the same totals.
there's a station northwest reporting 12 inches and another to the south reporting 22.. but they're also not included in the analysis RDS posted

How is Katrina not on that list? I thought she hit Buras at 920mb?

My goodness. That thing ain't moving at all.

Katrina hit as a weak 3 if I recall correctly

Jeez, that looks terrible for TX folks.

Maybe it's just me, but that website has a vibe of "it's over, and it wasn't that bad for us."
People simply get too caught up in the winds and do not respect the rain that isn't going anywhere soon.

Ok, that is throwing off the total rainfall graphics then. Certainly plausible if they're all verified.

The GFS is running now, but the rainfall totals in the Houston area look way under the real world observations. 24 hour totals in Houston area are less than 4 inches, and that simply doesn't seem possible given the current setup.

Update from WPC, calling for an additional 15-30" with some areas up to 40"

League City checking in to say thanks for all the updates. We've been spared so far from major rain totals but those long term projections don't bode well for the area in general.

The GFS doesn't have the resolution to resolve the mesoscale features that will drive convection in the short range. It eventually moves the remnants of Harvey into Mexico bringing 15-30" to areas around San Antonio.

Yes thankfully and miraculously my house is fine. We were rattled badly at 1am when the tornado hit. Houses across the street had big trees uprooted. 5 houses down bigholes blown through 2nd story windows and fences blown down. Windows busted out. I live on the golf course and at least 100 big trees are down or snapped in half. I'm extremely thankful.
