Why is it better than any crock pot?

Not sure all have the abilities with saute, steaming, pressure cooking, and how easy they are to use. It's nice that it's an all in one.. and it's stainless steel which I personally appreciate.

It's a good price. I even cook boiled eggs in it and they come out perfect and easy to peel. I'll put say 4 eggs on the insert rack that comes with it.. Put a little water up until below the rim.. then do manual pressure timer of 4 minutes.. and I don't have to worry about watching it or anything else..

It cooks a whole cabbage and cauliflower on the rack really well too. It's good to get a time sheet for everything or look online.. but I'm most impressed with how it cooks meat, even frozen meat.

Sure you can do all that stuff elsewhere, it just makes it simple and you don't have to monitor it.

Bought. Thanks. Wanted to make sure I was looking at the same thing.

It's the only appliance/item I have ever recommended

One other note is if you pressure cook.. once it's finished it still has a lot of pressure so you can't just take the top off (it won't let you so it's cool) you can release the steam valve at the top though and take the top off quicker if you need to.. once the steam exits you can open.. usually takes a minute.. just keep your hands clear of the exit path.

I have two though, because I like to cook rice in one while I saute a soup or stew in the other.

For rice, you just need to do equal parts water to equal part rice. So 1 cup of rice with 1 cup water. I think if you do brown rice you may need to click multigrain.. but I just do white rice so I'm not sure.

It's also not just a pressure, it's a slow cooker as well. And you have great timer options with the slow cooker feature as well.

It's just nice because you don't always have to fire up an entire oven say for just one large item that would fit in it. It's just easy to deal with.

I've clicked the instant pot a couple times. What do you cook in it that I can't do in the oven, in a cast iron pot, etc?

To second the previous response, this is precisely the point of the Instant Pot. It is an oven, rice-cooker, slow-cooker, etc. all in one. In 70 minutes I can offer up the most tender pot roast you've ever had and I can do it all on one pan.

I'll say this though - if you buy it to cook rice, buy the rice lid too. Difference maker IMO.

Can someone explain the firestick?

Do you buy it for 24.00 or 34 whatever its on sale for...plug it in like a USB and then you have a certain amount of channels?

F paying for a cable provider? Is this how it works?

Not exactly. It makes your TV smart. You install apps on it (like netflix, HBO go etc.). You still have to have a subscription to those things.

Cord cutters like myself also opt for another pay service like playstation vue....which is another app. I pay $30 a month and get 55 channels. It streams my television using the Fire Stick or FireTV rather than having a cable provider. Clear as mud?

Edit: or you install Kodi like some people are mentioning and then you get some free content. I have no experience with this....yet. I have a Fire Stick coming in Thursday to experiment with.

Anyone have any experience with this electric smoker? Is this a decent deal or should I wait/look elsewhere? Thinking about getting one for my parents.

No you get all free content. Any movie/tv series you have ever heard of. The only drawback is live streaming for certain sports, but watchespn solves that.

I have a 40" masterbuilt smoker and love it. The 30" seems a little too small for me.

Thanks for the explanation. I'm not sure if I need it or not, but the hysteria around it got to me.

What you need is FireTV or FireStick + Playstation VUE + an Antenna. I have not looked back.

HD antenna gives you all the local stuff
ESPN gives you SECN and all other games you might want
You can get live streams of any other sport. Not all are great but they are available just as long as you know where to find it.

I found out the hard way that if you add an item you have 15 minutes to purchase it. If you don't buy it in that time you can't re-add it to your cart for the Prime day price.
