If what you say is true and she really did mean to pull the taser and accidentally fired the pistol. Then yea she should absolutely be held accountable for her actions.

“If what I say is true”??? Did you watch the video? The fact that she meant to pull her taser instead is indisputable.

I dunno man it seems pretty disputable.

A glock and taser feel very different in your hands and the idea of a cop not immediately recognizing they pulled their service weapon with which they have to qualify doesn’t pass the smell test.

It's disputable for sure. But judging by the her reaction and the other officers' reactions I would think it wasn't intentional. At the end they all kind of stood there like WTF just happened.

I never like to play "what if" scenarios because you don't have a clue what is going through someone's mind, especially in a high stress situation like that. That being said, under normal circumstances she should have known that she didn't pull her taser.

The video speaks for itself. Watch the video. She is an incompetent cop who couldn’t handle the pressure and by habit or instinct grabbed her gun, which is on her dominant side, instead of her taser, which is on her non-dominant side. Not only did she do that but she pulled the trigger afterwards. She’s incompetent. After she shoots, you can hear her immediately regret it when she realizes what she did.

She needs to be fired for a fatal mistake caused by gross negligence. Not murder, as you seem to suspect. You belong in Minnesota, apparently.

The cop either made an inexcusable mistake, which Im hoping is the case, or decided to use excessive force by shooting him. Yes the kid shouldn’t have resisted arrest, he ultimately escalated the issue but it didn’t rise to a level of shooting IMO.

Oh and the “reporters” at this press conference are really dumb.

I watched the video.

It looks like she meant to pull the gun and either

1. Accidentally pulled the trigger

2. Freaked out and pulled the trigger

Shooting a gun when you think it’s a taser is some Barney fife shite

Oh no doubt, she's at minimum fired and probably guilty of accidental manslaughter.

Tough situation. She’s a woman so she can’t be incompetent.

She is literally saying “I will tase you” as she pulls the trigger. If you don’t think she accidentally pulled her gun you’re an idiot.

Don't mistake what I said for excusing her actions. She 100% needs to be held accountable for her actions.

It’s disputable regardless, but it doesn’t really matter. Either way it’s a mistake.

No one is here arguing she shot the kid in bloodlust. She just should never have been a cop.

Now we agree. It just seems to me like you’re trying to say she pulled the gun intentionally.

Did you watch with the sound on? The video clearly shows she thought she had a taser in her hand and even gave repeated verbal warnings that she was going to tase him to both the perp and the other cops. She could be incredibly stupid, or she could have made a mistake under pressure as a rookie. Either way, she fricked up.
