Look, it seems like this officer went a little far, but a school should handle discipline itself. If they call the police, it should be because they need and want the police.

When is assault, not assault? Wife is an elementary teacher. Hellion kid in kindergarten, spent most of the year terrorizing and assaulting anyone and everyone. They coddled little Johnny along, until he punched his very pregnant teacher in the stomach, and she lost her baby.

Had that been my wife, I would have burned the whole fricking place down. Assault is assault. The teachers and faculty aren't there to be abused.

My son isn't 6 yet, but when he is, if he starts hitting and kicking teachers and staff I won't be upset if they put him in the cop car.

In my 40 years on this earth this is the very first time I've heard of anyone calling the police on a 6-year-old.

I'm also positive that this isn't the first 6-year-old to ever hit or kick teachers.

Why is your first instinct to assume that this was warranted? Evidence would suggest that this teacher overreacted.

The police department should have a policy in place along with the school system.

Under the age of X our policy is this. It would solve not put people in compromising position.

The school administration should be fired for failing to do their job.

A human being was killed, dumbfrick. The teacher had been begging for help with this kid, and had been being kicked and punched all year. Kid is now in 2nd grade. Head butted the female principle and broke her nose not long ago. Would you want your wife to be his teacher?

Congrats boomers. This is what your asinine zero tolerance policy (among other things) has gotten us: 6 year olds being arrested in school.

I have no idea.

If I was a teacher I would get him out. Simply draw a crude gun and claim he drew it. Showed it to me and made threats.

OUT!

The police never have been there, they shouldn’t have called. But once he arrived he never should have put them in restraints. Lots of bad decisions made by the adults here

No they don’t and that’s bad way to think abo it the police, jail shouldn’t be the only option. The police should deescalste the situation, file it if they need to, but try to just get the situation under control and everybody at peace.

Of all people to call someone a piece of shite.

Must be your bastard spawn that is causing miscarriages and breaking facial bones in teachers.

Only you would defend that heathen little shite stain. He killed a teacher's unborn baby, you idiot.

Shouldn't you be on the Political Board blowing Obama?

What punishment can you hand out? Suspension? I think he has been suspended, more than once. Isn’t even the first time he’s injured the principal. Kicked her in the head s week or two ago, sent her to the hospital. Concussion. If parents of other kids knew what a few of their kids classmates we’re saying and doing, we would have riots.

When he is physically injuring people, including causing the death of an unborn child. It is time for law enforcement and DFACS to step in.

When you say "this teacher overreacted, which of the three assaulted are you referring to? That's right baw. the little bitch assaulted 3 of them.

This neighborhood is on the edge of an area called Crime Hills in Orlando. The child was merely doing what she had been taught at home.

What about the child in question? Has she been tested? If not, why not?

Even though you asked this question rhetorically (and ignored the post that I made about her sleep disorder), it’s actually worth addressing.

So first, you’re never going to “just know” that your kid might have a mental health disorder and obviously they won’t either. So if you suspect something, you’re likely going have to find a therapist (you’ll likely cycle through a few) who can actually get your kid to objectively, articulately and accurately explain what they’re experiencing (because small children are fantastic at that right?) before he or she has any clue what’s going on.

So, you’re likely looking at weeks worth of expensive visits, even if you have insurance. Again, this is after you have a reason to even suspect something is wrong.

This isn’t like going to your family doctor and getting your throat swabbed and hearing “yep, Johnny has strep”. There’s no “test” that works that way with mental disorders. It’s a long, often frustrating and typically expensive (even if you have insurance) process. This is why so many mental disorders go undiagnosed.

What’s the problem with the restraints? If not restrained, the kid could start going crazy and then the cops looks even worse when he has to use force to restrain them.

School is mainly to blame for passing the buck on discipline.
