If you're on a conference call and you have to step away, do not put your phone on hold. Everyone on the call will hear your company's on-hold music.
You're welcome.
You're welcome.

Too much of a pussy to say this to your coworker so you have to post it here

It amazes me that people still do that shite but it happens on about 75% of our conference calls

On hold music? You work at a Best Buy or something?

I have my company's hold music set to Hanson's "Mmmm Bop". I've had a dramatic reduction in the need for conference calls lately.

Another tip, when you're on a conference call and going through a divorce, make sure to mute the conference call when your husband calls in and you have an all out fight on your cell phones.
Unless you want to entertain the rest of the conference group.

Whenever I have conference calls in the afternoon, I always wait to eat my lunch until the call.
That way I can say things like "sorry ya'll, I have to take my lunch during this call."
For one, it makes it seem like I'm busier than I really am. And two, I can take a bite and pretend I'm chewing if someone asks me a question that I have to think up a bullshite answer for.

Same. Also amazes me how many people don't automatically mute their phones when joining a call.

Thing I love about Lync calls, it automatically mutes you when you dial in. Nothing like dialing into a conference call on the toilet and/or from home with your mobile and forgetting to hit mute.

i hit mute so i can't hear what they saying no more.
