Offering fish caught on vacation to friends black maid: is it racist?

In Florida on vacation. Staying with a friend (white) who does not want the leftovers and I don't have a way to transport back home.
Told me I should offer to the maid an older black woman. Is it racist? Any tips for approaching the situation?
