And the bar exam isn't like going through med school, completing all the steps, and going through a neurology residency

See how easy it is to piss on people's accomplishments.

Southern has an engineering program?

Wife worked with a ME intern from Southern. Her level of knowledge was FAR below her peers but she earned major respect for her drive and willingness to work at closing the gap. By the end of the internship, the Southern student had risen above 5 other interns in the same program.

That must explain the comically over-saturated saturated law market compared to the very healthy engineering market.

I think one of my lawn guys has a JD.

The took the FE 17 days ago, and filed a complaint about this chick who was literally reading the questions in a speaking voice, and then saying what she was thinking. Got the moderators to tell her something three times, but she kept on keeping on. My ADD spiked, and I got pissed off enough to not even do the last 20 questions.

Still haven't heard results because they don't release them until the investigation is over. Here's a tip.....if you want to know your results in a timely fashion, don't file a complaint.

For every one of those, there are at least two of the guysfrom SU that were in my summer geotech class. These two both just needed geotech to graduate, and they were so bad at solving even easy problems. Comically bad mistakes. Like not using SI units instead of standard depending on the givens in the problem bad. They were nice guys and they tried hard, but I wouldn't drive on a bridge they designed

You're right they didn't have to give up their ethics, and souls when the PE was passed like the bar.

Go take it then post results.

After years of school, and ridiculous amounts of mathematics sure it does.

Now go eat a dick

Yup, so that makes it even worse for me. I lose information going from a computer screen to a piece of paper on my desk. The mechanical portions of it weren't hard at all. I have been doing a lot of those exact problems in school for years. Unfortunately, only about 2/3 of the test was mechanical shite. The tough stuff for me was economics, statistics, etc. It was like reading Chinese.

Hopefully these jagoffs finish up the investigation soon so I can get my results

this is one reason why I was so hell bent on passing the PE last year. I'm hearing that the PE is going electronic soon too. Frick that

You are correct. Being a complete a-hole is not a requirement to take it.

Most younger people grew up doing everything on a computer. I did not. It takes me 5x as long to comprehend stuff I read from a monitor. No idea how they study and take tests using those things

Ha! "Ok chief". Not a whole lot of PE's are waiting tables these days, but JD's are aplenty

Congrats to those that passed today, guess it's now 4 years since I passed mine. For those that didn't, just give it hell next time, no one in the working world asks you if you passed on first try.

In their defense, the average engineer actually provides a useful, quality service.

Signing up for the FE today. Just got to figure how to study after being out of school for a while. And then to find a job that qualifies me to sit for the PE.

For the FE, you just need to learn where everything is in the formula book. All the questions are relatively simple. I found the FE to be more of a test of time management than anything else.

This is actually a bigger pain in the arse than it used to be. They started really looking at work experience the past few years. Just make sure you're working directly under a PE and go into GREAT DETAIL about engineering skills used when you fill out your packet. Good luck.
