The whole point of flattening the curve was that the hospital itself was not overwhelmed

That hasn’t happened

Why? Visitors aren’t allowed and non elective aren’t happenin

Because the narrative being pushed in the media is that hospitals are busting at the seams completely unable to keep up with the demand.

So the number of beds, medical equipment, educated staff have stayed far away from being overwhelmed? Can you link that info?

So, to you, that means every bed in the hospital is filled and the hospital itself looks like death valley on a Saturday night in the fall?

A vast majority (90+%) of hospitals in this country are extremely empty.

Then why do we keep saying they’re overwhelmed and unable to operate and full of heroes working 20 hours shifts with non stop patients?

Hang tight. We are about to call on the COA, Cats, and some other advocates and bus them into Oschner and then we can get WBRZ and The Advocate out to make this the story we know it should be.

So you posted the first sentence, and then asked why, whenever he answered it immediately after that statement you quoted?

Because 90+% of hospitals isn't 100%.

There are over 6,000 hospitals in the US. There are dozens that are overwhelmed at the moment.

And it's the media, so they're sensationalizing everything as always and making it seem like it is everywhere.

I just pointed this out because it shouldn't be surprising to experience and empty one at the moment.

Ochsner is funneling all COVID cases in New Orleans to Main Campus.

I would imagine Baptist is a ghost town.

My across the street neighbor is a ER nurse at Baptist and hes says it's the slowest she ever seen it.

I just ran into a ER Doc at Tulane and he said he had 5 patients come in last night and none were COVID Related.

Because a person that can't badge into the COVID areas of the hospital won't see much activity. Hospitals like the Lake have converted multiple med-surg units into COVID units and are paying med-surg nurses big bonuses to work COVID shifts.

If hospitals tried to do business as usual and deal with COVID most simply couldn't do it.

That’s the part he’s excited about.

What's the address for that hospital? Asking for a friend.
