Anyone have experience with paying for and using Ochsner Concierge Health coverage?

They need to give you the sales pitch before hitting you with the heavy price. Probably scare too many people if they posted it. Might still be worth it, but I doubt I would give up my current primary care physician if I was happy with them. It will be interesting to see the actual price. If they require you to get all of your care at Ochsner, that might lower the price.

No experience with Ochsner, but I do the Baylor college of medicine version here in Houston. It’s an amazing experience and well worth the $2k a year membership.

My former primary care doc switched to doing this about 8 years ago. I think at the time it was about $2-3,000/year to sign up for the service. I didn't see needing his services enough to justify the expense.

Man, I’d be hard pressed to enjoy going to the doctor enough to make it worth an extra $2K.

I don’t like it, but it’s worth it to me not to sit and wait in offices forever only to be rushed through with shitty healthcare. I have a great relationship with my Dr now. For example, when my wife shattered her arm in Park City a month ago, we had a whole team from BCM on the phone coordinating care with the surgeons in PC. They made sure we didn’t get some rando ER surgeon to do it, they got the dude who did Lindsey Vonn and the rest of the US Olympic team to get her in for a consult 2 hours post injury and she was in surgery the next day. On top of the better care, they have a lot of services I enjoy. Exercise physiologist, dietician, trainers, etc. that I get to use free of charge. And basically all of my visits are zero copay because they apply some of the 2k to cover that.

My company offers it to the leadership. It's nice, I call a number and dont have to deal with the general phone bank. Always same day appt, whatever I need, private waiting. They walk you down to imaging and labs ahead of any queue. Out of there in and hour-ish.

No, we left that hospital to go see an elbow and hand specialist that was coordinated through BCM’s trauma ortho team. He wasn’t on call, they specifically wanted this guy because he had experience with the type of injury and the BCM peeps knew him from a fellowship and apparently it’s a small industry. The on call ortho was happy to see us go to that dude because I don’t think he wanted to frick with something that was in the elbow and that ended up taking 8 hours to repair. My point is, someone who didn’t have experience with this type of injury could have seriously impacted her quality of life, we got lucky and had our docs looking at imagery in real-time and coordinating care with the guys in PC. That piece of mind cost me 2k. Well worth it to me.

You can likely get all of what you need through a virtual appointment. Maybe give it a shot if you just need yearly labs etc.

It sounds like it’s a service you pay for to not get shitty service? Pay $2k a year so you don’t have to sit in the waiting room for an hour because they overbooked.

I understand the fees not covered, but I'm surprised you still have to pay your co-pay.
So you are basically paying for priority access.
