O-T Mechanics: squealing brakes

Since I changed my brake pads the brakes squeal when engaged. I hadn't put the brake lube on so yesterday I took off each wheel, removed the brake pads, and liberally applied the brake pad lubrication to the back of the pads and the metal clips where they touch.
All of the caliper pistons moved easily and had plenty of grease on them.
The pads are not worn, they have plenty of life left.
So what else would be causing the squealing?

Same fricking problem with only one wheel. I even have special brake squeal compound that I've put on there twice. Did you let it get tacky before you put the pads back in?
The only thing I have left to try is to turn that one rotor again. I hit it with a flap disc to no avail

It comes from cheap brakes/pads.
I am not saying that you went cheap, just that some cars take really high end brake components or they will squeal.

They make some shite called "NoSqueal" or something and sell it at AutoZone.
It's like a graphite dust that adds friction. Worked for me years ago.

Cheap pads can, but proper bedding of the pads/rotors is huge. Also, proper use of the lubricant.
My cousin once applied to lubricant to all surfaces of the pad. Needless to say, his brakes didn't squeal.

IIRC, the stuff I use is made by Permatex (not cheap), and have OEM rotors with Hawk pads. Not exactly cheaping out. I followed Hawk's directions for bedding the pads

The rotors aren't old, maybe 4 or 5 months. It's probably cheap autozone pads.

I stopped having problems when I went with Raybestos Pro pads and rotors.

You can have expensive pads and rotors and still experience squeal. It has nothing to do with the price. My Brembo's squealed straight off the show room floor because they came with very aggressive pads. It usually has to do with the compound.
