I just picture non-local OT’ers reading this thread like it’s Spanish

They have blown up, according to Arthur Hardy they have 3,300 members to Endymion's 3,100, even. Yikes.

Seniority, especially seniority on a particular night are sacrosanct during Carnival. Nyx are on Wednesday, and SECOND on Wednesday because they are new. The pecking order is in place, that's simply the way it is.

I, too, wonder how this all happened despite all the trouble they've had, and the shady dealings at the top.

Nyx has gotten too big for a weeknight parade. Starting at 7pm with 44 floats doing the extended uptown route is insanity. They need to push the start times of Druids and Nyx up.

My sister and a few of my girl friends ride this parade. They've told me Nyx is in the process of moving to a weekend night, next year, being that their Krewe tripled in one year. They're saying the first Sunday night of parades may be an option.

Not going to happen in the weekend before Mardi Gras.

Unless someone else moves they will be rolling at 10pm on a school night. Nobody is staying to watch that.

That would screw traffic up even worse for people trying to get uptown before the parades start.

True. Push up the first parades an hour or two to leave a gap. Or one of those may choose to move to Wednesday night.

frick them too. Nyx did the same thing. I have a friend who rides and bought a shite ton of those beads when they first came out. Now she's out that money for beads she can't use.

They need to stay where they are. I enjoy Druids and Nyx on Wednesday. I consider it the beginning of the final push.

I don’t think Sparta is going to budge but they may not mind letting Nyx roll before them and after Feret.

my thoughts are if I am lucky it will rain harder and continue and I will have a significatly easier time getting home

The fact that such a large parade rolls on a week day right after rush hour is ludicrous

Regardless of her viewpoint on the monuments you friend is an idiot if she bought a shite ton of those beads. I would tell her to throw a few and let everyone else on her float know, whats the worse that could happen, right?

It doesn't really matter how big the parade is in regards to after-work traffic. Once the streets are blocked it doesn't really matter if they are back open at 11 pm or 1 am. The only want to fix this would be to have no weeknight parades, including Thursday.

It does for me

uptown parades usually follow 1 of 2 routes. the larger ones tend to follow the route that specifically fricks my rear end harder

If they need to have week day parades they need to do a better job of planning. They were literally blocking major streets 2 hours before the parades roll, totally unneeded. I am not sure if this is in response to what happened at endymion but it's just not well thought out
