Fighting is a part of human nature. There's nothing wrong with fighting to protect yourself or to keep people from messing with you (if they won't leave you alone).

Eh. I think walking away is the correct thing to do. The guy here almost did the right thing, instead he chose to turn back around and re-engage and almost ended up doing something incredibly serious.

I did not say let him get up. I said after throwing plenty of blows to the head and he is clearly not a threat, he should have gotten up. Once the dude was clearly done (and you can easily see where that point was in the video), his friend should have pulled him off. There is no arguement that he didn't go just a little over board.
ETA: For the record, I believe the dude got exactly what he had coming. These "thug" types will keep acting like this without people putting a stop to it.

He did the right thing. He tried to leave the situation and the other guy wouldn't relent. When that happens, the other guy deserves to get his arse beat.

But, anger at being attacked can make one a shade irrational. That's why attacking someone is ill advised. They might not react in a textbook mannaer. AND, they shouldn't be expected to.
I was once in a fight where while on the ground, the dude bit me in the cheek. Left his full denture print and drew a LOT of blood.
I managed to get back up and when I did, kicked him solid to the head before he could get up and he went down in a heap.
After that, I kicked him OVER AND OVER again and frankly, wouldn't have stopped if someone hadn't finally pulled me back.
Sure. I probably "should" have stopped but frick......I didn't even want to fight in the first place.
