I think you're underestimating how stupid the general public is.
the police absolutely eviscerated her story, BUT, we still don't know officially on teh record wtf she was doing Friday and Saturday. I think some of the more gullible/liberal people are going to cling to that and hold out hope that her story still has some legs.

They have all they need on her, I think the whole "we are still investigating the 49 hours she was missing" is them trying to confirm who all else was involved with this.

If she isn’t charged within a month, you can complain. They aren’t charging her until they finish investigating every detail if her time gone to see if anyone else is involved. It was longer than a few days when the Cali woman was charged.

This isnt possible because the moment they were charged with a felony they would have been transfered to the county. Municipalities in Alabama do not have jurisdiction to try felony cases.
