They have a good series recently on how oil is produced, transported, refined, used in products, etc. Very educational. They included an interesting visit with the guy who developed the fracking technique.

Name of this series?

Jesus Christ. People just fricking vomit words.

Tolerance and acceptance are two completely different things. Not showing tolerance would be murdering Homosexuals or throwing them in jail.

This is great. Literally had a conversation with a friend the other day how Subarus in DC are always driven by women who look like lesbians. Told him I was thinking about getting a new car, since I drive a Subaru.

It's always this car:

And they always have Bernie bumper stickers on the back.

I've also noticed how lesbians seem to prefer Corgis as dogs. Maybe someone should look into that.

We have a VW sportwagen TDI right now that is going to be bought back once the settlement is reached. My wife is a riding instructor in her spare time and the clearance on the VW is often an issue at the barn, so we're looking at an Outback. She is, however, worried about the lesbian stigma.

It's crazy that Subarus are basically based on off-road rally cars, but this ad campaign has had such a long lasting effect on the brands image.

I drive an outback as a company vehicle. I wouldn't have bought one otherwise, but now that I drive it on a daily basis, I love this car. It has the same ground clearance as a truck and is the most off-road capable car on the market. The damn car is fun as hell to drive. You can rip down some off road tracks, slide thru dirt road turns, and handle most things other than deep mud.

It's a great safe family cruiser as well. All in all a great vehicle even thou I chance my wife turning into a lesbian after she drives it.

There were Subarus all over Montana when I was up there this past summer. Didn't seem to fit a lesbian demographic up there, seemed like a common choice for anyone.

They are all over the Rockies because they are the best car based platform for the mountains.

if they ever put a third row in their vehicles, my next purchase will be a Subaru.

Subaru made the Tribeca for about 7 years ending in 2014. It was a large SUV with three rows of seating. For some reason sales never took off and Subaru finally dropped it.

There's some interesting stuff on NPR but I can't stand and won't abide the smug & smarmy institutional attitude there in toto.

Yeah, apparently the Tribeca wasn't very well liked.

I'd be happy with a rear facing third row like in those old station wagons.

Not weird, just practical and not overly concerned about proclaiming their masculinity by driving a jacked up truck to tote their dry cleaning around.

My subaru will out perform stock trucks in most non-towing situations anyway.

Has more ground clearance than a Silverado and great AWD. The 3.6 engine has a lot of pop too for how light it is.

It drives like a rally car off road and a sedan on the road. Pretty awesome. And my interior is incredibly nice, like luxury car nice.

I'm on my seventh Subaru, a 2016 Forester Premium, so I don't need any convincing.

What a strange turn of phrase this is. Why this circumlocution instead of "many were lesbian." Sounds like they're implying that maybe these women weren't really lesbians, they just said they were.

Tribeca was way too expensive. Looking forward to seeing the 2018 3 row SUV.

This is it in a nutshell, does the family duty but has plenty more action for fun.

If they had never done the lesbian ads, and strictly marketed it on its off road rally car roots, the image of the car would be totally different. I'm not saying the lesbian ads were bad. It sold a shite pile of cars in the 90's and 2000's. However, the modern Subarus are being underrated when people dismiss them as just lesbian vehicles.
