The Navy is undisciplined and unprofessional. That is literally the only possible explanation for these mishaps. It's hilarious that they're trying to blame this on lack of sleep and trying to fix the problem with beacons. They just don't have the balls to discipline their sailors and make their training tough enough to create a force of sailors that won't fall asleep or play on their phones while on watch.

You go back and watch AIS youtube videos of the collisions and it doesn't seem like the Navy was at fault in any of them.

Keelhaul a few of those frickers and the rest snap into line pretty quick. I don't think you'd have to get through more than four or five sailors before the rest of them decide alive is better than cut to shreds and drowned.
