Did all the old K-marts have restaurants in them?
I grew up in Chalmette in the 80's and ours had a full service restaurant as well as a diner counter you could sit at. Pretty much a larger version of today's Waffle House.
We used to eat breakfast there damn near every weekend.

Locations I frequented as a child in Baton Rouge and Gonzales did indeed have "restaurants" inside, though I use that term loosely. There were hot dogs and nachos and Icees to be had, as best as I recall. I believe they were dubbed the "K-Cafe," if memory serves.

He is referring to an actual restaurant. It was off to the side and had its own entrance. I do remember the “cafe” inside the store for snack type items.

Yes...the K Mart in Longbow shopping center offered icees with NFL logos. They had a seated snack bar that offered popcorn and burgers iirc.

She's dead and was cremated.

To add from a people standpoint:
Nash Roberts was the best by far of any weatherman and hurricane tracker in my lifetime.

Used to be the "Old #2 Course," I guess before the one that abuts Robert E. Lee was laid out?
I always knew them as North, South, East, West. Either the East or West was supposed to be the best of them, but I only played North and South that I remember. South was a short course and got swampy after a rain.
The 18th fairway paralleled Wisner, so if you were right handed and sliced it was a car killer.

Cool place. I think it's a bunch of condos now.

Crazy Johnnie's (Tri tip sammich FTW)
Shakey's after HS football games. (They're still around, if you ever make it out to So Cal)
Shoney's late night breakfast buffet on weekends. Great place to stuff yourself to help work out the buzz and often, a fascinating people watching experience.
The Warrior and cutting class to play pinball at the Frostop on Airline (Old school EJ folks check in)
LSU games in the early - mid 70's. Tiger Stadium was at its loudest and most insane when it was the 68K bowl before they started all of the expansions. Anyone who disagrees, name the time and the Sonic. Along that line...
Airline Motors on Airline Hwy in Laplace. A must stop before or after LSU games. Sometimes both.
Scratch's Pool Hall on the WB.
Popeyes buffett on Loyola Drive in Kenner, brah. I'd wreck that thing often. Some days, it would wreck me right back. Worth it!

You're spot-on with Morgus. In that same regard, I miss the times when cable TV networks and local stations weren't afraid to take chances and play some weird, wild shite in the late-night hours on the weekend. We used to see cult-classic films or bizarre horror movies coupled with raunchy sex-comedies all the time. That's been replaced by endless Harry Potter or CSI marathons. It's lame.

Miracle Strip Amusement Park in Panama City Beach, Florida.
It's an outlet mall now. My parents took my brother and I there a few times. Had a blast every single time - especially when I was young enough to be a little scared of the wooden coaster.
A part of my childhood died when they tore that place down.

Raise the flag!
That place was a fixture of 1980s Baton Rouge. It was way more popular before it became to low brow for the area. The Nicholson location was across from the Chinese restaurant (sort of behind the WBRZ campus). It closed in the early/mid 1990s. The one near Broadmoor closed in 2005 or so.
They opened a new one on Siegen but it wasn't the same and lasted only a few years.
