A 2.4 earthquake was reported early Tuesday morning near the Caddo-DeSoto line, according to the USGS.
The agency’s website shows the small quake originating on the east side of Linwood Avenue north of its intersection of Barron Road.
The North DeSoto Residents Forum Facebook page lit up Tuesday morning with comments from people who felt their homes rattle. Callers who heard a “loud boom” began reporting it to the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office after 1 a.m.
Patrol deputies were dispatched but were unable to confirm where the noise came from.
Sheriff Jayson Richardson recently learned, however, the earthquake was to blame as confirmed by the USGS.
The sound and vibrations were reported as far as 5 miles from the center, he said.

Is it really necessary to make fun of people that have had their lives destroyed from hurricanes?

That was just all the Shreveport area folks' heads exploding when they realized a guy from the Monroe area is about to be their Governor.

I lived in S. Shreveport for awhile when the first Haynesville shale boom was taking place. A legit earthquake woke me up one night and shook the walls in my house. I only ever felt that one, but its definitely from all the fracking.
