Tiger Manor was fine when I moved there 2012-2014. Looks like a dumb outside but nice insides and pretty quiet place.

I lived around the norhtgates pretty much my entire time there. Yeah you need to lock up your bike, but what campus would you not?

Plenty of places to grab food or a beer plus you are close to campus. you dont have to deal with traffic or parking trying to get to class, you can just walk or bike. Also not far from good tailgating areas during football season.

It gets bad down highland, but just dont go walking round those neighborhoods at night.

Plus that edge of campus has been built up over the years with more student housing more big apartment complexes. none of that shite was there when i started. Even tiger manor was run down and they eventually fixed that up and I had several friends live there.

My favorite spot was the tiny old apartments across from the bulldog

They were super old and the parking sucked, but affordable and could literally walk across Perkins on Wednesday's and have a great time. And still really accessible to the school.

It’s hard to see without looking for it but they are across the corner from where the sonic on Perkins is. I think it’s like 900 for a 2 bed room with W/D in the apartment, or was when I lived there

All the big college complexes are all the same. They put on a good face for the tour but you’ll pretty much hate living there after a few months

omething 750-1k 1 bedroom maybe 2 bedroom if reasonable would be ideal so I can still have some extra $$ and that area seems pretty reasonable.

Highlander Condominiums is about all you will find. You won't find much nice stuff for 750-1000 per month anymore

Those two places I commented on on chimes have options... I said there porch is On state but meant chimes...
They guy renovating is taking the main buildings and making them one and two bedrooms...
He put a iron fences on the front yard and people have nice covered porches with BBQ and chairs.... the upper ones have balconies..

Not sure of price....but he also has parking in back and a long line of studio apt above the garage...second one was bring outside painted last week and I suspect ready by fall
Buildings next door to ingas...

Lots of stuff with rent signs up right now on state(houses and plexus)
I am under the impression LSU will be having one person a room for forms and apartments
.....so guessing housing is going to be competitive.... and commuting via bus and car gonna be a pain..

I think lsu has screwed you students with the parking...they keep taking lots for dorms...

I lived in Tiger Manor for 3 years, loved it. Close enough to walk to campus, and is also on the bus route if you dont want to have swamp arse from walking.

They used to have their own trolley that ran too and from the union every 15 minutes or so, which was clutch, but im not sure if that still a thing.

Only problem we had was local chillrens coming to use the pool a couple times during the summer, but they were always run off by security

Tiger Manor was lit circa 2010 - 2012.

I'm old now so I don't know the scene in 2020.

high rise lots are a touchy subject. the first one that was built is a total disaster (built in the wrong place)

they definitely need a second one near kirby, corner of skip bertman and nicholson, or north campus.
