Why doesn't NOPD have a helicopter for things like this? That way cops can pursue at a distance

Eventually, the only solution will be to move where these people arent, let them kill each other and build cities with Police that are allowed to protect.

If there was some civil asset forfeiture on the table or some plants that make people feel better were on the truck NOPD would have been all over it.

I mean, it’s better than “crawfish truck plows into a family in a high speed chase” It sucks mightily to have something stolen, and not beginning to say it’s ok or insurance makes it fine— but in the balance of things, serious chases are incredibly high risk and often not great rewards.

To make this premise true, NOPD must follow up and the arrest the criminals at a high percentage and penalize them. This is not happening, thus there is no deterrence for the criminals to stop stealing shite.

They would need 20 copters to cover the city.

I wonder why vehicle thefts are up so much in NOLA the past few years.

Nah, I don’t wonder that.

Pretty sure it’s the “white mans fault” ...when in the hood gotta play by hood rules... open carry state. Pull out and start shooting, cops are useless now.

I've known Chuck for years, great dude, before moving to Nola, I never locked car, house etc, never even carried a house key. Once I lived there I lived in the "nicest" areas, locked everything like fort knox and still had multiple break-ins, etc, it was ridiculous.

When law enforcement won't aggressively pursue criminals, pack your shite and leave, I live in a gated neighborhood in a nice suburb in TN and don't have to think twice about that nonsense anymore.

Reminds me of the time my wife and I were walking on N Rampart toward the Quarter and a family wearing Ohio State gear was leaving their AirBnB. The Mom asked if they needed to lock the door and the daughter turned to her and basically yelled at her that yes, she did need to lock the door.

Why do key FOBs Not have an Engine Off Button? Or at the very least an auto kill switch if the FOB gets a certain distance from the vehicle?
