What was OC Haley? Dryades?
Yes. It was "The Colored Canal Street" before integration.

The OP works for and is a bitch boy for WWL, he won't acknowledge that Nola.com has the facts.

My wife and I have the financial security to venture out into less paying jobs and maintain our lifestyles. We have discussed moving back to LA and applying for homocide detective jobs.

We all love our city NOLA and it needs to be saved and it's going to take a lot of hard work and people who really want to fix things. We have no background in law enforcement but we both have one a doctorate and one a masters. Both with undergrads in biological sciences and strong understanding of anatomy physiology and have the ability to learn quickly. For now it's just been talk, however I wonder how open the NOLA police depts are in hiring new homocides detectives.

No chance do you step into being a homicide detective as an initial hire. It just won't happen in NOLA or anywhere.
