Yes, on top of their parking garage...

The locker rooms and work out areas were hot garbage when I was there in law school 13 yrs ago. I used to go to Tulane's instead with my football buddies.

This is a picture posted to yelp recently. I recall that's what they looked like back then. I can almost smell the mildew.

Yes and the teams locker room.

I’d expect them to at least renovate it over the past 20 yrs. tuition there has to be close to 45k by now:

That's sad if true about Xavier. I worked there in the early 2000's.
Katrina really did a number on them. I know it was horrible for the whole region but they haven't bounced back.

granted the last time I was in Tulane's gym was before its recent renovation... so Tulane's could've gotten a lot better and I just haven't seen it yet

yes Loyola has a basketball team... not only did the Wolf Pack men's team make the NAIA Championship Tournament last season... they actually advanced out of the 1st round for the 1st time in forever

the Loyola women's basketball team has become a mainstay at the NAIA Tournament over the last decade plus... though they never seem to be able to get past the 2nd round

Loyola pulled the double at the 2019 Southern States Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament... winning both the men's & women's titles

they play in the gym that actually sits on top of the Freret St. parking garage... floors 1-4 is all parking (which is what you see while driving down Freret)... 5th & 6th floors is actually the university's gym which is where the basketball teams and volleyball team plays its home games

considering Xavier is NAIA... you don't expect it to be a near-DI quality arena like this

Katrina money paid for that for the most part after their old, historic, much smaller & intimate gym was destroyed by the flooding

ETA: this is the type of gyms you normally play in in NAIA ball

Yes. But they do have one of the best Law Schools in the country. I think we all remember that.

yes... all are NAIA

Xavier, Dillard, & SUNO are all in the same conference... the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference

Loyola is in a different conference... the Southern States Athletic Conference

they all used to be in 1 conference together... the Gulf Coast Athletic... with schools like LSU Shreveport, William Carey (Miss), Mobile (Ala.), & Spring Hill (Ala.)

but the GCAC had a mass exodus around 2007 or 2008... LSU Shreveport went to the Red River Athletic Conference, Spring Hill went NCAA D3... Loyola, Carey, & Mobile all went to the Southern States... the GCAC was barely clinging to life but got a few more HBCUs to join it and salvaged something out of it (it's an HBCU-only conference now)

ETA: I take that back... Spring Hill went Southern States too as part of the exodus from the GCAC by all non-HBCUs in that conference... but shortly after transitioned to NCAA D3

#1--Auburn

#4--Tulane

I call bullshite.

These absolutely make sense in my experience.

I've been to Auburn twice. The 1 second loss shitshow and last year.
Those are by far the happiest and nicest fans in the SEC. I was told "Welcome to Auburn", often with a handshake, by strangers at least 5 times each visit.
Now granted, Auburn fans are a tad dorky and not as rabid as us, Bama, Fla fans are. But by all means they exude general happiness on game day, even to opposing fans. And when they come here, they are all self-deprecating(eg "hopefully [insert player] doesn't shite the bed for us!") and having fun leading up to the stadium.

And Tulane? Well yea. First off the non-locals are just happy as hell to be in one of the most interesting cities in the USA. Add that to the fact they are indoctrinated to believe they are getting an ivy-league education. That makes Tulane students the most smug cocksucker students you'll meet.
So yea they tell EVERYONE they are happy but inside they are insecure meek fricktards.

ok I feel I may not have made the best point about Xavier's gym being DI-quality...

here's the gym NCAA D-I Southland Conference member Houston Baptist plays in... Sharp Gymnasium

I am a Shreveport guy and even I get sad driving past that place. It used to be a fun little college. It sucks now.
