I just clicked on Nola.com and had been there about an hour earlier and lo and behold they rolled out a new website and layout. Haven't had much of a chance to navigate that much, but the format looks a lot more current and news forward. We'll see how it goes, but my first reaction is I like it much better.

ETA: not sure if all the local news websites that had the same format have followed suit. Not sure if it's just local or national.

Okay...point taken :)

You have a point, it's changed so much over the last 10 years.

Al.com

always had the same format as NOLA, and now they've changed, as well.

Nah, just a better layout to stick in more ads and make it harder to navigate

Did they upgrade their reporting as well? If not still not worth reading.

You have a point, they definitely needed to keep it the same

Can't argue that point.

I'm going to miss all the pop-ups and redirects. Guess I'll have to get my fix on the BR Advocate web page...

It looks like one of those format changes where the website can look the same on the computer as it does on mobile. But I'm not going to check mobile because that requires effort.

This!

The Advocate has the worst and most-annoying abortion of a mobile site I have ever had to suffer through.
