The French Quarter street performer known as Uncle Louie has been arrested in connection with a deadly convenience store robbery that occurred almost exactly 43 years ago in Jacksonville, Florida.
New Orleans police helped Jacksonville investigators book Johnie Lewis Miller, 60, into the city's jail on an out of state murder warrant on Tuesday morning.
Court records indicate Miller was booked in connection to the May 22, 1974, slaying of 34-year-old Freddie Farah. Farah was working at a convenience store that he owned when he was shot to death.
According to information on Project: Cold Case's website, Farah was giving change to a customer when a man walked up and demanded money. That man fired a gun at Farah and fled the scene after the store owner began moving from behind the cash register.
Miller was apparently linked to the slaying after evidence in the case matched a profile of his stored on the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System, or AFIS, a database which is maintained by the FBI.

Damn, dude probably lived 43 years thinking he got away with it. Those investigators deserve a round of shots after this one. Statute of limitations, Shmatute of limitations.

They could have at least let him wear his hat for the booking photo.
