Looks like ole Mitch may just have to remove them himself.

The fact they can't get anyone to do this should tell them something. That is, if they were competent, but we all know about Mitch.

How do people not know the difference between "losing" and "loosing"?

I don't think the money required to move them can fit on an EBT card

The Landrieu family considers themselves a political dynasty on par with the Kennedy's, Bush's and Clinton's. I kid you not.

I truly don't care if they come down or not. I don't live in NOLA. And last time I was there, I didn't go see them. I just don't understand how it can rile someone up so when - through legitimate local governance means (the supposed holy grail of governance) - it's been determined that they be removed. Seriously. It's fricking statues.

It didn't rile anyone up until Mitch started this crap. No one even thought about them. Most people I guarantee couldn't tell you who the statues depicted or where they were all located except for the Lee Circle one.

Sorry, that doesn't address the sad specter of the girly-men being riled up in the first place. You literally could not get me to pull for a private businessman to receive death threats and destroyed property based on something to do with statues. Yet in this thread, we have several doing just that. And they complain about so-called "SJWs."

That's the point. It's political pandering that takes attention away from other, more pressing issues, like crime, education, and infrastructure. You know, things that actually affect peoples' day to day lives.

Just announced at the city council meeting that the Monument removal will go out for public bid.... Hopefully no company touches it.

Likely will seek out a minority-owned company to bid

Everyone is butthurt. Either people are butthurt that there were statues in the first place or you're butthurt that they are coming down.

That's because statues of civil rights activists are good things and statues of people who fought to preserve slavery are bad things.
