You implied it in the comment I quoted. Sarcasm be damned.

I'm really surprised some religious zealots are not capitalizing on this "Sodom and Gamorrah" type correlation.

Yes, and more rapidly than anything mentioned.

Like in 2005 when all the wing nuts stated that Katrina washed the sin out of NOLA yet Bourbon St never flooded.

nope
my implication was that with media, what could be a straightforward article involving scientific findings, they couldnt but help toss in a jab to global warming to further a politicized agenda.
it is Gawker Media, so it's not that surprising

With few exceptions, this is not a politicized agenda within the scientific community. I read literature every day that discusses the implications of climate change.

People here wouldn't believe in global warming if Ronald Reagan, Chalton Heston, and Jesus came down from heaven and appeared above the state capitol holding a giant blinking banner that read "Hey shitbergs, you would have to be a complete idiot to believe global warming is a hoax in year 2016!"

Im not disputing that the climate is changing. I agree that it is
my issue is the ulterior political motivations to promote the man-made climate change stance to the sound of alarmists' doom and gloom
regardless, it's a political issue, if you dont think it is, you're sorely mistaken.
my issue is that the story stands on its own, and the author couldnt resist tossing in a global warming nugget in there. It's Gawker Media, which is terribly a liberal, left wing media outlet. And while I hate Gawker itself, I usually enjoy the other outlets, such as io9, Gizmodo and Lifehacker, among a few others.

Geographically, there can't be many cities located as badly as New Orleans and San Francisco.
