People I know, who saw it when it came to New Orleans loved it. A friends of mine took their 3 girls (pre teens to early teens) and they said it was not at all disappointing. They thought that it might not live up to it's hype, just because anytime something gets a lot of hype you have high expectations, but this one went above expectations.

Not sure why people are so opposed to it. Is it because there is rap music in it? Do you people know that not all rap is equal? There is some creative rap.. Play on words, the ability to make it flow, etc.

He was a genuis, if you're interested you should read Richard Broohiser's book on him.

He took a brand new country, with no credit, in debt to other countries as well as Americans, veterans and those who supplied the war effort, and establish the full faith and credit of the American monetary system.

He was born in the West Indies, was basically abandoned as a kid, got a job in some sort of bank there. The investors were so impressed with him that they sent him to NYC where he was educated at what is now Columbia College.

The rest is history.

It's a great show. Saw it at the Saenger. It helps if you've read the book its based on or have a fairly recently awarded American History degree. It moves fast and packs it in.

Now, if you want to be truly cutting edge, go see "Six" in Chicago this summer. It will be the next huge thing on Broadway. Saw it a month ago for $30. I expect to pay many times that to see it again. Was a great night out.

Was it a better musical than the devils hands are idle playthings?

I’ve yet to meet someone who saw Hamilton and didn’t love it. There’s nothing at all controversial contained in the musical itself. I can’t imagine why it seems to trigger a bunch of south louisiana plant workers.
