He is a loon, but the percentage of shitty judges/prosecutors is pretty high.

Haha ah. I don’t do any work in Orleans parish, so that little tidbit must have slipped past my new wire whenever it happened

I find it interesting that his death is already being called "apparent" suicide. The initial news releases usually state, out of respect for the survivors, that the person was found dead and no foul play was suspected.
Didn't he work in the child sex trafficking crimes division?

I would imagine the next of kin was identified before the press in this matter. Things like bullet through the head are pretty self explanatory.

Getting extremely irate, defensive and dramatic about “politicization” in which no one else interpreted that way shows something’s gnawing at you.

What does child rape have to do with a dead district attorney?

The job of a prosecutor is to obtain a conviction, not the truth.
You must love Fannie Willis, Jack Smith, etc and think Trump is guilty...

Better a loon than an unapologetic bootlicker. You must be so proud of the London KY cops.

Yep, the post that came before it that was hidden shortly thereafter. I’ve posted repeatedly that that very much primed my response to this one. But some of you keep insisting on ignoring that

I'm disappointed by the trashy posts some people have made here about a young man they didn't know and a situation they know nothing about. That won't stop them for a second from using some family's personal tragedy as a launching pad for insanity and hate. Some people here just have sewers for a mind.
Some who knew him posted on the Reddit New Orleans sub (usually not too great itself for other reasons). I thought these posts were touching and kind, the opposite of most of what has been posted here, so I thought they might be a nice thing if anyone came to this thread wondering if any human decency could be found here:

I knew him very well, and was fortunate enough to not only work with him for a while but also call him a friend. The world is a much sadder place without him.

... I appreciate it man. I'm just hoping his loved ones are also okay.
Ian was a really chill dude, incredibly committed to his work, and nerdy as the day is long. Tended to be a pretty private person, but if you could get him talking about one of his hobbies you really never saw somebody quite as animated (It was a mistake to get him going on 40K)... He was a dry, witty and earnest man, and pretty much willing to give you the shirt off his back if you asked for help. I really hope that people will remember him for the man he was rather than just the job he had. As much pride as he took in his work, I hate seeing the only thing people mention about him being his profession.

Most of us would gladly trade Ian for you after a scumbag comment like that.
Do you have a soft spot for sex offenders and wish they would not get prosecuted?
Eat a dick and choke on it.

Your sympathies for sex offenders is noted.
But for grins, how would society ideally take care of this ?
