Some of us have been in hard times. Seen how some of these predatory junkies live. These aren’t the hobos of the depression.

A lot of these people have support systems they could use and family that would take them in, but the choose this lifestyle. Hell, some of them are trust fund gutter punks.

If they aren’t bothering anyone and keep out of sight in the woods or such, I doubt anyone has a problem with them.


When they are on every street corner and then you see them going to a nice car after...

When they are aggressive with their bullshite stories and then get angry when you don’t give them money. When they are violent, when they leave trash everywhere, they cease to be a harmless nuisance and become a public menace.

And if you don’t take steps to discourage them they will multiply.

Seconded. The government has created this problem and the anger it causes. Id just move but hard to judge folks who may have actually grown up in San Francisco

TDFreak, I do agree with you on this point. I've been in contact with hundreds, if not thousands of homeless, over the past 29 years in my profession. The vast majority do not take advantage of the things available to them, because they are not allowed to be there while under the influence of...anything. Most just choose the street.

That being said, there are some who already lost everything, are genuinely having the worst time of their life, and would give almost anything to improve their situation.

It is a blight, but my point is simply that destroying or ruining everything someone has is not the way to go. I see and understand the viewpoints of most people here, but respectfully disagree about the way this was done.
