Power outage?
Was the wind a little too gutsy today for Entergy's limited capabilities?

I dont know how you can't care about the numbers. If the numbers keep going up, be prepared to go back to phase 1 or stay in phase 2 for even longer with modifications (bars must close, no large gatherings...). Wouldnt you want to see the numbers to be able to anticipate that action?

Perfect! After our 2 day power outage we can lump the ENTIRE weekend together into one day and call it the largest bump in the history of COVID.
May as well keep the power off until the middle of the week.

He’s an idiot, he doesn’t care about the numbers because he doesn’t understand and he can’t count.

That's disingenuous considering protocol around treatment with ventilators has changed as the medical community has learned about how to treat it.

So why do cases matter if we now know better how to treat it and hospitals wont be as overwhelmed?

I don't think they mean a ton, but if our %positive continues to trend up and hospitalizations continue to increase there's cause for concern as trends go. The trend as of the last week is not great, and if we've learned anything about exponential growth in the first round of the virus is that it's easy to underestimate how it explodes.
Not saying that exponential growth is happening, I don't know, but that is the fear imo.

Contract tracing bruh. They want to track every person that test positive

If we had an honest governor he would break down positive cases by age and severity of symptoms. But we dont.
Cases as a raw number are useless

Our %pos has been the most consistent stat by far. Between 4%-7% whether we were shut down, or in phase 2. It’s not increasing and certainly not anywhere near “exponential”. frick most of these are retests anyway.

It has been increasing over the last week, as have hospitalzations.
Some of the %positive increase can likely be attributed to contact tracing but ultimately neither of those are a good trend after we've had weeks and weeks of the opposite direction.
Eta
But a week doesn't make a big sample size, obviously. We could have a down week next week for all any of us know.
