A guy I used to work with got screwed at a Nissan dealership in Jackson because he was unaware you could negotiate interest rate. You would be suprised how many people do not know they can do this.
His sister worked for the Nissan plant in Canton and he brought a brand new fully loaded maxima real cheap years ago due to her discount.
Well he goes back to deal with the finance manager, and he has 700 credit score, he got stuck with 16% interest. He was so ecstatic over the deal with the car, he didn't think twice about the interest. He paid on that car 6 years with like a $600 car note for a fricking maxima. Probably paid $50k on that car.
My friend won't deal with that dealership ever again after me and my friends telling him how stupid he was. He was just ignorant on the whole car buying process.
fricking shithead dealers. But that's a lesson he learned the hard way.

You're a stupid frick for sending 2 women to buy a car.
Posted on 12/27/15 at 11:25 pm to Ignignot
Sorry chief I didn't send anyone. My mother in law went down there to get her own car. She wanted a juke, idk why, they are ugly as sin but that's what she wanted. She has plenty of experience negotiating deal with cars.
Nissan tried to pull a fast one on her and she called them out and left. Just letting the OT know what POSs the Opelousas Nissan is....

Last Truck I bought (sadly had to go elsewhere cause Ford stopped making the damn Sport Trac) I told the salesman what I was willing to pay.
He came back $40 a month over it. I told him the same total.
His manager came with him and said he could do $30 over what I told him, I told him the number...and I wasn't going over it. They finally gave up and said fine.
I get into the finance office and it's back to $30 over what I agreed to. I told him what it was going to be, or I was walking out. After a lot of whining about what I said, and that "other things are included" I informed him it was my way, or the highway.
It was my way. Bottom line they want to sell the vehicle, and I knew my price gave them a profit...a very small one, but a profit.

Just curious, what Nissan dealership?

Larger car groups actually cap what they mark up the interest rate. Smaller mom and pop stores do not.

that. That's why I settle on a price, get a buyers order, and go to my bank for financing on the vehicles I purchase.
I sold cars for a couple of years. I can honestly say the professionals are not crooks. They have families just like most people. It is a high turnover business though. Find someone who has a good reference.
Career salesmen make their livings on repeat and referral business. You don't get that from fricking people.
Yes, salesmen try to sell off of note, not price. It's just one of a hundred sales techniques.

Tell her to file a complaint with the CFPB online. That will fix their arse because them boys don't play these day with this type of financing manipulation.

They Chevrolet dealership in Opelousas (Roy Motors) is some very good people and honest. Will never buy from anyone else.

This is just the finance department at any dealership. You have to walk in and say "No, thank you" about a hundred times - sometimes not so nicely.

Find lowest priced paid on true car - nationwide
Haircut that price by a couple percent
Add tax, title, license
Go into dealership with an all in price
Walk if they can't make it work

How long was he paying $600 with a %16 percent interest rate before you found out? As a friend you could have enlightened to the fact that you can refinance a vehicle for a lower interest rate after the initial purchase. I've done it twice through a credit union that my sister in law works for. Both times she called to inform of the new lower interest rate.

Bob Giles has been running a crooked operation for years. I made a fool out of their service manager and general manager after they tried to fleece me on service bills. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ANY GILES NISSAN

Why do people say "frick"?

You never win at a dealership, you just don't lose as much if you know what you are doing.
