Of course it is. Not only is the city income tourism driven, NOLA can’t afford to lose out on people coming in for these type of events or conventions due to a bad rep with crime.
Everyone here knows crime in NOLA is OOC, but the city really doesn’t need visitors figuring it out and refusing to return.

I’ve also stopped hosting a girls trip for Jazz Fest every year bc it’s just not worth it anymore.

New Orleans isn't salvageable, nor really BR, nor many American major metros.
The US is politically captured, America doesn't have the will nor stomach to fix the erosion. It's populace is filled with ever increasing needy, many of which are highly self-defeating, that require the nanny state. It will only get worse and worse. You'll need to keep doing urban flight, which is unsustainable as a long term model.
Modern day Rome, after two hundred plus years, it's what you're living in..she's dying.

Everyone here does no crime in NOLA is out of control. But then the retard mayor comes on TV and says that she doesn’t embrace NOLA being the murder capital of America. City “leadership” with the exception of a couple of council members are in complete denial.

I had a client in the area so I ate lunch there sometimes. Or went to the spa

My wife rides in a female Krewe and decided to sit out this year. The route was shortened due to lack of police. They can no longer get escorts for buses from their pre party because not enough police. Yet dues have risen as well as the price of throws.

That’s the rub. Any electorate that would put Teedy, Jason Williams, and Susan Hutson in office really doesn’t want change. They will continue to vote the exact same way. The City is screwed. Once Gayle Benson dies, the Saints and Pels will move. Mardi Gras will continue to shrink because of lack of cops. At that point NOLA becomes Jackson.
