There is or was a Twitter feed in which people turn current issues into Seinfeld episode ideas.

With logic, tell me why alcohol should be legal and cocaine illegal.
A glass of wine with a thick prime rib does not create long-term changes to the brain.

Cocaine induces long-term changes in the brain, and not good changes. LINK

Is that logical enough for you?

ETA: Ironically, one of the long-term changes cocaine does to the brain is the person who chronically uses cocaine starts believing cocaine is not harmful.

I googled it and the answer is about 6.5 grams for a 150-pound person. Seems easier to do that in rapid succession than it is to get alcohol poisoning.

Bro, 6.5 grams up your nose is Hunter S Thompson shite.

Banning Narcan would solve a lot of problems.

Everyone on here for the most part does drugs

Not everyone. I've never even smoked a joint. I take drugs (OTC and/or prescriptions) only for as long as I need them to get over whatever it is I needed them for in the first place (infection, swelling, etc), then stop (I hate having to take drugs).

Beyond that, the "everyone does it" excuse doesn't take away anything from the logic of the best way to avoid ever becoming addicted to drugs is to never do drugs (read: recreationally) in the first place.

And therein lies the problem with the debate/conversation. The topic of the thread is about people overdosing on illegal substances, and you respond to a post about drug use with your alcohol intake. Hell, I guess I qualify since I am currently drinking my 2nd cup of coffee

Let's better quantify your response. What percentage of TD users due you think use illegal/unprescribed drugs?

but we do not live in some kind of perfect society. Good, productive people do drugs recreationally. It doesn't matter if you look down on it, and think that you are better than those people.

What "problems" would that solve?

You think that the risk of dying keeps people from shooting up? CLEARLY it does not.

Or you think that all of the junkies are just going to die off, and poof, drug problem disappears?

Not true. Just ask anyone who drinks a pitcher or two of margaritas and then spends the night driving the porcelain bus.

Depends on what state they live in…..

See how stupid using the arbitrary legal/illegal tagline is?

Lil Jamal is entering kindergarten this year. Should he should start carrying Narcan? Lil J might need it so save some worthless soul that lives in the jungle gym and uses the girls bathroom.

It reminds me of all the responses in the obesity threads that just say "eat less, move more." Yeah, no shite. But people aren't doing that and it's fricking up all kinds of shite in our country. So what do we do now?

Admittedly I'm a bit conflicted on this issue though. I don't really care about your stereotypical street junkies but the introduction of fentanyl to everything worries me with younger people not knowing what they're getting into. Of course "just say no" is good advice, but it's fair to say plenty of now-productive citizens ignored that advice when they were younger.

Cost of doing business if you are doing street drugs.

The med student doesn’t get a pass because someone gave her a Reese’s Cup by mixing fentanyl with coke, X, meth, or whatever else.

Don't do drugs, dumbass. Boom! Not dead!

You wanna smoke a litte reefer? Whatever, but as soon as you start popping pills my "Give A shite" meter drops to zero.

Besides, anyone with above a retard's IQ knows that fentanyl is everywhere. If you take the risk, then tough shite.
