Try to take this the right way. No one, and I mean no one, gives a shite about your New Year’s Resolutions.

2025 was one of the worst years of my life. Struggled with several health issues. I just hope for a healthy and peaceful 2026

It's obviously cliche, but work out and eat better. Gained a decent amount of weight this year so need to get that done.

Also need to drink less.

I'm gonna hit the the gym for 5 weeks, well at least 3 and then get on a GLP-1. Fit in my XL PFG shirts by May. Cut down to 3 regular Cokes a day and ther rest will be Coke Zero. Ultras instead of Bud Light. Dip half as much. Spend less on the 4 wheeler. Hit up Golden Corral no more than once every six weeks and even then, only 3 plates. Learn to use ran/run and gone/went properly.

Everything you listed is 10X more likely to happen than this.

New Year's Resolutions for 2026?

My goals for 2026 are pretty simple:

- Keep it real.
- Stay in the moment.
- Drop the things that no longer serve me anymore.
- And don't be afraid to start over if I need to.

Not just for this, but life in general.

20% don't care about you or your problems, and the other 80% are glad you have them, because many people are miserable, self-absorbed, and secretly relieved — or even satisfied — that someone else is struggling too. It makes their own lives feel less shitty by comparison

My only resolution for 2026 is to be a better person than I was in 2025. Be more compassionate, kind, humble, gentle, patient, forgiving and loving of others.

With the exception of four days last year, I had no alcohol. I intend to keep that going.

While I haven't smoked consistently in 19 years, I occasionally buy a pack and smoke them over a month. It's been three weeks, I have no real interest in partaking. Seems like good a time as any to quit permanently.

But the biggest thing is I worry about my son being quicker than me. All of the kids decided to test their speed at christmas..and a few of the adults who haven't realized their age. I only managed 14mph. And it kicked my arse to do it. I'll likely be stronger than him for a very long time, but I am legitimately worried about the day he realizes pop has lost a step.

Yep, I have lost several folks I have known for years, one to cancer, one to a heart attack, one was killed in a house fire, one in-law...

Been doing a lot of thinking about those who are now gone and my own life and what it means and what I am doing.

Like most, I have been working since I was a kid. Been working for many years and I am approaching retirement, still a few years before I get there but it's starting to get a lot closer.

I feel good physically and emotionally, spiritual life with God needs lots of work though.

But I wonder how many good years I have left. Life is way too short.

Been contemplating about cutting back on my workload at my job, and doing more fishing, hunting, golf and just plain goofing off.

I am not OT rich, but I have worked to set myself up to live comfortably. House is paid for, no major debt, kids are now gone, wife is gone, I am very close to my family.

One day when we are gone, nobody is really going to care and other than our families, no one will care or even miss us.

Rock on dudes and Geaux Tigers.
